Very Narrow Aisle Turret Trucks
Man-up and man-down turret trucks for high-bay warehouses where aisle width, lift height, floor flatness and rack accuracy must be treated as one system.
Man-up or man-down?
A turret truck can place pallets left or right without turning the chassis. The correct configuration depends on whether the operator must also pick individual cases at height.
Man-down turret trucks
A Series CSD10, CSD12 and CSD15 configurations keep the operator at floor level. They suit full-pallet storage where visibility systems and rack positioning provide the required control.
Man-up turret stockpickers
X/XC Series CSDS10, CSDS12, CSDS14 and CSDS16 configurations raise the operator with the load. They are selected for mixed pallet handling and case picking in high-bay aisles.
Compare VNA Configurations By Product Family
Each page below covers one current product family, with the available model range, mast height, load capacity and aisle conditions kept together.
X Series Turret Stockpickers · 1.0–1.6 t
For high-bay pallet handling and case picking where the operator rises with the load.
X Series Man-up Tri-lateral Stackers · 1.0–1.6 t
For mixed pallet placement and elevated order picking in guided very narrow aisles.
A Series Seated Man-down Turret Truck · 1.2 t
For full-pallet storage where the operator remains at floor level and the forks rotate into the rack.
A Series Stand-on Man-down Turret Trucks · 1.0–1.5 t
For full-pallet VNA work where frequent entry and exit make a stand-on platform practical.
Six checks before VNA configuration
For a very-narrow-aisle truck, capacity alone is not enough. We need to prove that the truck, pallet and rack layout work together before the configuration is released.
Pallet dimensions and load overhang
Provide pallet length × width in mm, the load dimensions including any overhang, and the fork-entry direction. Pallet size directly affects the required working aisle width; confirm it together with the truck configuration and rack clearances.
Please send the warehouse drawing
Show aisle width, rack pitch, end-of-aisle turning area, floor joints, rack protection and the material-flow path between receiving and storage. A marked PDF or dimensioned CAD plan is enough for the first review.
Confirm the pallet and load
Provide pallet length and width, load overhang, load weight, load centre and the highest pick height. These figures determine the required fork length, mast height and residual capacity.
Check the turning clearance
We compare the truck’s turning radius with the clear aisle width, rack clearance and transfer aisle. A nominal aisle figure is not proof that a VNA truck will turn safely under load.
Confirm guidance and floor conditions
Rail or wire guidance, floor flatness, wheel load, battery-change space and operator visibility all affect the usable layout. We record these points before recommending an A Series or X/XC turret configuration.
Verify capacity at the required lift height
Check the selected mast load chart at the actual load centre and required rack level. Confirm residual capacity with any attachment fitted.
Send the drawing and pallet dimensions with your inquiry. ForkFocus will review the warehouse geometry before confirming the VNA truck, mast height, forks and battery package.
The warehouse is part of the truck specification
Floor flatness, rack alignment and aisle guidance determine whether a VNA truck can work safely at its rated height. A narrow aisle cannot be confirmed from a plan-view dimension alone.
We check the clear aisle, rack face, pallet overhang, transfer aisle, ceiling services, sprinkler clearance and the travel path between the loading dock and the VNA zone.
| Capacity | 1.0–1.6 t depending on model, mast and lift height. |
|---|---|
| Lift | Required fork height, residual capacity and maximum operator picking height. |
| Guidance | Rail or wire guidance, entry alignment and end-of-aisle control. |
| Floor | Flatness, joints, settlement and transition areas outside the aisle. |
| Rack | Beam levels, pallet overhang, rack tolerances and load dimensions. |
ForkFocus integrates the complete VNA package
The truck is only one part of a working VNA project. ForkFocus coordinates the forklift, planned spare parts, guidance requirements and any approved hydraulic attachment as one material handling solution.
For a VNA machine, attachment weight and load-centre change are checked against residual capacity before approval. Documents, packing and 360 service are planned with the truck rather than added after shipment.

VNA Equipment FAQ
Can a turret truck be selected from aisle width alone?
No. Lift height, rack tolerances, pallet overhang, floor flatness, transfer aisle and guidance system affect the usable configuration.
When is man-up operation justified?
Choose man-up when operators must pick cases or inspect stock at height as well as handle pallets. Full-pallet storage normally favours a simpler man-down solution.
Which model families are covered?
A Series man-down models include CSD10, CSD12 and CSD15 configurations. X/XC man-up and turret stockpicker models include CSDS10, CSDS12, CSDS14 and CSDS16 configurations.
What must be confirmed before shipment?
The approved mast height, residual capacity, guidance package, battery and charger, camera or positioning options, rack clearances and delivery access must all be recorded.
Send the warehouse layout—not just the capacity
Provide aisle and rack drawings, pallet dimensions, load weight, lift height and floor information. We will identify the correct VNA configuration and the remaining project checks.
Warehouse equipment and maintenance
For warehouse planning, the guides to forklift masts, load backrests and overhead guards explain lift and access clearances.
Review hydraulic controls, hydraulic functions, steering and manoeuvring space, and battery and charger compatibility with the warehouse configuration.
If the operation calls for reach or compact counterbalance equipment instead, compare double-deep reach trucks and mini electric forklifts. Their applications differ from VNA turret handling.
