Forklift attachment compatibility: truck fit, hydraulics and remaining capacity
Confirm the exact truck, mast, carriage, capacity evidence and hydraulic arrangement before choosing the attachment. Attachment rated capacity is a separate limit from forklift residual capacity. Weight, horizontal centre of gravity and effective thickness move the combined load forward, while mounting class, visibility, hoses and auxiliary functions determine whether it can be installed and used correctly.
This guide applies to forklift attachments including clamps, rotators, fork positioners and other carriage-mounted equipment.

A clamp or fork positioner can be mechanically mountable and still fail the residual-capacity or hydraulic check. Conversely, a truck can retain enough capacity while the attachment itself is underrated for the load.
Two independent passes
Truck residual capacity at the working point and attachment rated capacity at its stated load centre must each satisfy the load.
What changes the combined system
Attachment weight, HCG, effective thickness, carriage, hydraulic pressure/flow and actual cargo centre of gravity all affect the result.
Evidence needed
Use the truck load chart and verified attachment data for the exact configuration; do not approve from truck tonnage or carriage class alone.
