Hangcha Forklifts / Class 8 / X Series
X Series Electric Platform Trucks
The X Series covers compact 1.0–5.0 t platform trucks and 8.0–16.0 t industrial tractors. ForkFocus matches the truck to loaded trailer weight, route length, gradient, coupling and shift intensity.
Compact platform trucks: 1.0–5.0 t
These trucks suit frequent short- and medium-distance movement in railway stations, vehicle plants, factories and airport service areas. Travel speed reaches up to 20 km/h on suitable configurations.
Permanent-magnet brushless traction motors, AC controls, suspension and optional full cabs support repeat transport work. The important decision is not simply towing tonnage: coupling geometry, braking and battery demand must match the route.

Heavy platform trucks: 8.0–16.0 t
The 8.0, 10.0 and 16.0 t platforms are built for heavier trailer movement and longer industrial routes. High-voltage architecture, lithium or lead-acid battery options, full hydraulic steering and electromagnetic parking are available by configuration.
Loaded travel speed is approximately 10 km/h for the 8.0 and 10.0 t platforms and 9 km/h for the 16.0 t platform. Loaded gradeability is approximately 10% for the 8.0 and 10.0 t trucks and 6% for the 16.0 t truck, so the route must be measured before selection.
Performance and application comparison
| Decision | 1.0–5.0 t platform | 8.0–16.0 t platform |
|---|---|---|
| Typical work | Parts, tools and light trailers on frequent routes | Heavy trailers and industrial transfer trains |
| Travel speed | Up to 20 km/h by configuration | Loaded 9–10 km/h; unloaded up to 15–18 km/h |
| Power | Compact AC traction platform | 12 or 18 kW AC traction system |
| Key check | Turning radius, coupling and stopping frequency | Gradient, trailer braking, drawbar load and thermal duty |

Five points an experienced fleet team checks
Drawbar load
Trailer weight and rolling resistance must be calculated at the worst floor and gradient condition.
Braking
The tractor and trailer train need a safe stopping plan, especially on slopes and at pedestrian crossings.
Battery duty
Distance per shift and stops per hour determine usable battery capacity and charging strategy.
Thermal load
Long routes and continuous towing generate heat differently from short forklift cycles.
Coupling geometry
Pin diameter, drawbar height and trailer steering affect stability, articulation and tyre wear.
Why Hangcha for industrial towing
A range that scales with the route
The X platform family runs from compact plant transport to 16.0 t industrial towing. Fleet operators can keep a consistent product family while matching different routes and trailer weights.
Configuration beyond nominal tonnage
Battery type, cab, control system and steering package can be selected around the site. This matters when the truck must work through weather changes, ramps and repeated traffic crossings.
One material-handling project, not separate purchases
ForkFocus integrates forklifts, spare parts and Forklift Attachments into unified material handling solutions. The truck is checked together with the duty cycle, operator route, planned service parts and delivery method.
For mixed orders, our 360 service covers configuration confirmation, inspection and document coordination. Flexible shipment planning is arranged around dimensions, delivery urgency and local receiving conditions.
Watch working equipment
Use the video to review operator position, visibility and route behaviour. ForkFocus then checks the exact towing load and shift pattern before confirming the configuration.
X Series FAQ
Should capacity be selected from trailer weight alone?
No. Gradient, floor resistance, turning, braking and starts per hour can change the required platform even when trailer weight is unchanged.
Lithium or lead-acid?
Lithium supports opportunity charging and lower daily maintenance. Lead-acid can still be practical where a battery room and disciplined charging cycle already exist.
How does ForkFocus confirm the order?
We review the route, trailer, coupling, electrical system, operator protection, parts plan and shipment before the final truck code is fixed.
Confirm the truck around the actual route
Send the travel distance, gradient, trailer weight, floor condition and shift pattern. ForkFocus will check the platform, battery, tyres, braking and service-parts plan as one material-handling project.
