A and A2 Series IC Forklifts
A is the value-focused standard platform. A2 adds better visibility, cooling, sealing, braking and service access for customers whose cycle intensity justifies the upgrade.
A or A2: the difference is the duty cycle
A Series is the economical route for standard work and price-sensitive projects, including many Southeast Asian and African markets. A2 adds improvements in visibility, cooling, sealing and service access, so the correct choice depends on cycle intensity—not capacity alone.
For customers who need stronger high-duty performance, the X Series is the next comparison. Using an A Series price to judge an A2 or X quotation is only fair after engine, emissions, mast, tyres, hydraulics and workload are aligned.
The A Series is not an inferior forklift; it is the correct cost-controlled platform for clear standard-duty work. A2 becomes valuable when better cooling, brake life, mast visibility, hydraulic sealing and repair access reduce operating interruption.
ForkFocus compares both ranges with X before quotation. The goal is to avoid both underspecification and paying for features the customer will not use.
A and A2 product routes
1.0–3.8 t A Series IC Forklifts
The A Series is the value-focused mechanical platform for clear, standard-duty factory and yard work. Its long wheelbase, familiar powertrain layout and straightforward service access suit customers who need reliable capacity without paying for the higher-duty refinements of A2 or X.
Models: CPCD10 · CPCD15 · CPCD18 · CPCD20 · CPCD25 · CPCD30 · CPCD35 · CPCD38 with market-specific AG/AW engine suffixes
1.5–3.8 t A2 Series IC Forklifts
A2 is the practical upgrade from the basic A platform. It keeps a familiar mechanical truck layout but improves visibility, cooling, sealing, service space and grade performance for customers who run more cycles without needing the full X-platform specification.
Models: CPCD15-A2 · CPCD18-A2 · CPCD20-A2 · CPCD25-A2 · CPCD30-A2 · CPCD35-A2 · CPCD38-A2 with market-specific engine suffixes
4.0–5.0 t A Series IC Forklifts
This A Series range is a straightforward 4.0–5.0 t industrial truck for standard factory, warehouse yard and loading work. It offers a stable long-wheelbase chassis and practical service access without the higher specification and cost of A2 or X.
Models: CPCD40-AG53 · CPCD45-AG53 · CPCD50-AXG53
4.0–5.5 t A2 Series IC Forklifts
The 4.0–5.5 t A2 Series is the upgraded general-purpose platform for customers who need better braking life, cooling, mast visibility and service access than the basic A truck. Xinchai and Mitsubishi engine packages allow the powertrain to follow local service and emission needs.
Models: CPCD40-A2G53 · CPCD45-A2G53 · CPCD50-A2G53 · CPCD55-A2G53 · CPCD40-A2W76 · CPCD45-A2W76 · CPCD50-A2W76 · CPCD55-A2W76
5.0–7.0 t A Series IC Forklifts
The 5.0–7.0 t A Series is a cost-controlled large-frame forklift for standard yard, factory and loading work. It provides strong travel and lift figures with a practical Yuchai engine and 2F/2R powershift transmission, but it should not be confused with the higher-duty X platform.
Models: CPCD50-AG42 · CPCD60-AG42 · CPCD70-AG42
8.0–10.0 t A Series IC Forklifts
The 8.0–10.0 t A Series is the value-focused large industrial platform for dense machinery, metal, mould and yard loads at a 600 mm centre. It combines a 92 kW Yuchai engine, powershift transmission and 195 bar hydraulics while keeping the A Series emphasis on straightforward ownership.
Models: CPCD80-AG17 · CPCD100-AG17
How we separate the platforms
A Series
Standard duty, known loads, normal ambient temperature and controlled investment.
A2 Series
More cycles, better cooling and braking, improved visibility and easier routine maintenance.
X Series
Higher utilisation, repeated outdoor travel, demanding attachments and stronger duty-cycle requirements.
Capacity and series comparison
| Capacity band | A Series route | A2 Series route |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0–3.8 t | Broad value-focused general-duty range | 1.5–3.8 t with improved visibility, cooling and sealing |
| 4.0–5.5 t | 4.0–5.0 t standard industrial package | 4.0–5.5 t with stronger brake life, cooling and service access |
| 5.0–7.0 t | Large-frame value platform | Compare with X when utilisation is high |
| 8.0–10.0 t | Value-focused large industrial truck | Compare directly with X 8.5–10 t by duty cycle |
Why Hangcha A and A2
Overlapping platforms protect the customer’s budget. A, A2 and X let the truck specification follow the real workload instead of forcing one expensive platform on every application.
Fleet continuity remains practical. Customers can move up in duty level while retaining familiar technical documents, parts planning and service support.
Why ForkFocus
We explain where the upgrade earns its cost. Load centre, route, cycle frequency, mast, tyres, cooling, brakes and Forklift Attachment are compared before the final series is chosen.
Planned service parts, Forklift Attachments, inspection and shipment can be consolidated with the forklift.
Attachments change the truck selection
A carton clamp, paper roll clamp, fork positioner or rotator adds weight and moves the load centre. It must be included before the forklift capacity and hydraulic package are fixed.
The packaging surface, load dimensions and required clamp opening determine the correct arm and pad—not only the load weight.
Tell us the duty, not only the capacity
Send load dimensions, weight, lift height, route and shift pattern. We will compare A, A2 and X against the real work.
