Heavy-Duty Forklifts for 12–48 Tonne Loads

Heavy-Duty Forklifts for 12–48 Tonne Loads

Heavy-duty forklifts, side loaders, empty-container handlers and reach stackers require project-level checks of load centre, ground pressure, visibility and transport.

Capacity bands and working duty

These machines are not selected from rated capacity alone. Long steel, stone blocks, coils, containers and port loads impose different load centres, attachments, axle loads and operating risks.

12–18 t

Heavy factory, steel, stone and yard loads with project-specific mast and fork geometry.

20–35 t

Large industrial loads requiring close review of ground pressure, cooling and transport dimensions.

38–48 t and container equipment

Dedicated heavy chassis, side loaders, empty-container handlers and reach stackers.

600, 900 or 1,200 mm load centre changes the truck

Large-capacity forklifts must be selected from the cargo centre of gravity, not the nominal tonne figure alone. A longer load centre reduces the capacity available from the same chassis.

If the customer needs the same rated load at a longer load centre, the counterweight, frame, mast, axle, tyres and braking package may require a different design. Two trucks described as the same tonnage can therefore be structurally different machines.

600 mm load centre Common reference for many heavy industrial loads; confirm actual cargo length and fork position.
900 mm load centre Longer loads create a larger overturning moment and require a different residual-capacity check.
1,200 mm load centre Very long or deep loads can move the project into another chassis, mast, axle and counterweight configuration.

Information required: cargo length, width, height, weight, centre of gravity, fork length, lift height, attachment and travel route.

Five checks from experienced forklift work

Load centre The chassis is confirmed with the real load dimensions, fork length and attachment—not rated capacity alone.
Cooling Long shifts, dust, ambient temperature and repeated ramp work decide whether standard or enlarged cooling is required.
Traction Tyre type, ground clearance, transmission and braking must match paved floor, yard, stone or construction work.
Mast height Lift height, mast-lowered height, free lift and overhead clearance are checked with the cabin and load.
Service Engine access, filters, planned service parts and local fuel quality are reviewed before the order is released.

ForkFocus completes the deliverable configuration

We confirm engine or LPG system, transmission, tyres, mast height, carriage, forks, cabin, cooling, lighting and hydraulic functions against the real duty.

ForkFocus integrates forklifts, planned spare parts and suitable Forklift Attachments into one material handling solution. A carton clamp, paper roll clamp or other approved attachment is checked with residual capacity and hydraulics.

Inspection, documents, packing and shipment planning are coordinated under the same order.

Inspect the truck as a complete working machine

The product specification identifies the capacity family. The real truck confirms mast visibility, cooling access, tyre specification, operator space, hydraulic routing and the details that affect daily maintenance.

ForkFocus checks these points before delivery and records any agreed cabin, fork, Forklift Attachment or service-parts configuration.

Heavy-duty forklifts FAQ

How is the capacity band confirmed?

We use maximum load, load centre, lift height, mast, fork length and attachment weight. Long or offset loads can require the next chassis size.

What is the normal delivery time?

Small-capacity forklifts normally require about 30 days after configuration confirmation. Large-capacity and heavy-duty forklifts normally require about 45 days.

What warranty and payment terms apply?

Warranty is normally 1–2 years or 2,000 working hours, whichever comes first. Payment is normally 30% deposit and 70% balance before delivery; special orders can be reviewed separately.

Send the load and duty cycle

Share load dimensions, maximum weight, mast height, operating area, ramp gradient, shift length and required attachment. We will compare the correct series and capacity band.

Forklift, parts and attachment planning in one order

ForkFocus integrates forklifts, spare parts and Forklift Attachments into unified material handling solutions. We check mast height, load centre, tyre specification, cooling demand and attachment hydraulics against the actual duty before the order is released.

Common service parts can be planned with the truck. A Forklift Attachment is verified against residual capacity, and shipment planning coordinates the forklift, parts and attachments for container loading and delivery.

Hangcha Product USP

The useful advantage is not the number of models; it is choosing the right platform for the real duty. Heavy-duty selection begins with load centre, not only tonnes. Dense loads, long forks, high mast height and Forklift Attachments change axle load, tyre load, residual capacity, heat rejection and braking demand.

Performance in Real Work

For 12–48 tonne work, the decisive figures include laden travel speed, lift speed, gradeability and brake configuration. They must be read together with cooling capacity, ground bearing pressure and the actual travel surface.

Series Comparison

12–18 t Heavy industrial work beyond standard counterbalance trucks
20–25 t Machinery, steel and attachment-intensive handling
28–35 t Sustained high loads in severe industrial duty
38–48 t Largest industrial loads and purpose-matched site planning

Why Hangcha

Overlapping platforms let the truck specification follow the application. Engine, emission package, mast height, tyres, cooling and duty level can be aligned without forcing every project onto one standard chassis.

Platform depth

Standard, higher-duty and purpose-built trucks cover different routes and heat loads.

Configuration depth

Powertrain, mast, tyres, brakes and operator package can be matched to the destination.

Service continuity

Technical documents and planned forklift parts remain traceable after delivery.

Why ForkFocus

ForkFocus converts the truck request into a checked material-handling specification. The forklift, load, mast, tyres, Forklift Attachment, parts and shipment are reviewed before the order is released.
