IC Tow Tractors

Hangcha X Series IC tow tractor for airport and outdoor routes

X Series IC Tow Tractors for Airports and Outdoor Logistics

The X Series IC range covers 2.0–3.0 t and 3.5–8.0 t towing platforms. They suit outdoor or mixed routes where long travel, fast refuelling, engine torque and site access are more important than zero-emission indoor operation.

What we check before confirming the tractor

Drawbar pull

Starting force must match the complete trailer train, not only its cargo.

Braking

Stopping distance changes with gradient, surface and trailer brakes.

Coupling

Pin size, coupling height and articulation need confirmation.

Cooling

Long travel and hot climates require adequate heat rejection.

Engine package

Emission level and local fuel or service support must match the destination.

Operator protection

Cab, visibility, lighting and weather protection affect airport and terminal work.

2.0–3.0 t or 3.5–8.0 t?

2.0–3.0 t X Series Factory yards and industrial routes with moderate trailer trains, tighter manoeuvring and travel speeds up to roughly 23–29 km/h depending on engine package.
3.5–5.0 t X Series Higher drawbar demand and longer outdoor routes. QCD35–50-XG87 platforms use a 3.85 m turning radius and reach about 22 km/h.
6.0–8.0 t X Series Airport and terminal duty with larger trailer trains. QCD60–80-XG90 platforms reach about 24 km/h and require a larger 4.45 m turning radius.

Engine and market suffixes change the emission level, transmission and local service package. ForkFocus confirms the complete designation before quotation and delivery.

Airport project experience changes the questions we ask

ForkFocus has supported an overseas airport project involving eight diesel tow tractors.

The project confirms why trailer count, apron gradient, coupling height, stopping zones, shift distance, cabin visibility, service parts and delivery timing must be reviewed as one operating package.

A nominal towing figure cannot describe wet-road braking, turning with multiple carts or thermal load during long repeated travel.

Performance in real work

Travel speed

Representative 2.0–3.0 t configurations range from about 23–29 km/h. The 3.5–5.0 t group reaches about 22 km/h and 6.0–8.0 t about 24 km/h.

Gradeability

The range lists up to 30% unladen gradeability. Loaded grade performance depends on trailer mass, surface and rolling resistance.

Cooling and service

Long airport routes and hot climates make radiator capacity, airflow, transmission temperature and service access more important than peak speed alone.

Airport tow tractors prepared for Southeast Asia

This official Hangcha video shows a completed fleet of 50 tow tractors prepared for the Southeast Asian market.

For each project, ForkFocus still checks the route, trailer train, coupling, braking and local engine package before confirming the model.

Why Hangcha

Hangcha covers compact line-side tractors, airport-duty equipment and high-voltage heavy towing on separate platforms.

This range lets traction power, braking, operator position, battery or engine package and coupling arrangement follow the real route instead of one nominal towing figure.

Frequently asked questions

Can an IC tow tractor be used indoors?

Only where local emission and ventilation requirements allow it. Electric equipment is usually the first choice for enclosed facilities.

Why is the nominal tonne figure not enough?

Trailer rolling resistance, route gradient, coupling geometry and braking define the real requirement.

What engine information should be confirmed?

Destination emission requirement, fuel quality, service support and the exact engine suffix must be confirmed before the order.

What is included in the ForkFocus review?

Engine package, coupling, tyres, cabin, lights, documents, service-parts planning, inspection and shipment.
