How to Choose a Forklift Drum Clamp
Carrying a drum upright and tipping it to empty the contents are different jobs. Tell us which movement you need.
Ask ForkFocus About This Load
Will you carry the drum or empty it?
Carry upright
Match the grip to the drum material, rim and contact surface.
- Drum diameter, height and full weight.
- Drums per pickup and space between them.
Tilt or rotate to discharge
The clamp must retain the drum throughout the movement.
- Pickup position and required tipping direction.
- Discharge height and clearance around the drum.
Watch the drum grip and movement
Compare this gripping arrangement with your drum. A suitable grip for one drum design may not suit another. Watch on YouTube.
Can your forklift operate that movement?

Tell us the functions already fitted to your truck. A photo of the controls helps with the initial review.
- Hydraulics: carrying, tilting and rotating may need different functions. ForkFocus checks the available truck circuits and whether a solenoid valve or other controls are needed.
- Installation: confirm carriage, mounting, pressure, flow and hose clearance.
- Capacity: check both the clamp rating and the truck’s remaining capacity at your load centre and lift height.
Send what you know

Photos are enough for an initial discussion.
ForkFocus helps match the load, movement and truck; identify the attachment for replacement seals, hoses and wear parts.
